Monday Mix: Go Blue

This was a very good week. It started with one Michigan grad, Tom Brady, dismantling the Miami Dolphins as the New England Patriots cruised to a victory in their season opener. Then I got a letter from my condo development’s management company stating that beginning in January 2012, cable and internet service will once again be paid from the homeowner dues so I won’t have to pay out of pocket anymore. It was a great week blogging-wise, as I finally crossed the 200k mark on the Alexa rankings and a had better traffic and comments. The week ended with the University of Michigan football program one again making it into the Top-25 polls and Tom Brady again having a huge gain, so overall it was a great week for the school I rooted for since I was a kid.

Man, free cable?  The landlord gotta start raising the rent! :)

Without the front line, Tom Brady… I donno!

    • http://www.dollarversity.com Eric J. Nisall

I wish it was free! I actually heard a discussion on the radio where they were crediting Brady for Belichik’s success as a coach. Personally, I think it’s just an amazing organization from top to bottom & probably the classiest in all of sports

    Thanks for the mention!

I was glad too about Brady.   I’m not a “Blue” Fan or a Patriots fan, but do have him in my fantasy team.   So thus far I am loving him!  :)

This is the first year I didn’t play fantasy and I have to say I am enjoying watching the games much more now that I’m not worried about players in other games and watching the scores on the computer.

Don’t mention it Shaun. It was kind of a double bonus: I get to promote your article which promotes my own ;-)

Thanks for the mention Eric!  A BIG congrats on breaking 200k, woohoo!  Wow that is awesome your HOA dues cover internet AND cable!  I wish I had that for my cable.  It is so expensive – I think that’s why I became a TV addict to get the most bang for my buck.  lol  But I’m breaking free of that bad habit and only watch a few shows that I really like now and I’m so much more productive!  -Sydney

    • http://www.dollarversity.com Eric J. Nisall

Thank you, thank you , Sydney and you’re quite welcome too. The cable & internet were originally included when I bought the place in ’06 but half of the units went into foreclosure or the owners were collecting rent and not turning in their dues so the budget was blown so the association cut it out for 2 years to get caught back up. I’m not going to really be getting anything more than I have now, but at least the internet will not be coming out of my pocket anymore!

  • http://www.worldoffinance.biz World of Finance

Congrats on getting HOA to cover cable and internet again. :)

    • Eric J. Nisall

Thanks Mary. I guess when you keep questioning the budgeting decisions and continually point out that it is supposed to be included, they finally get the hint that maybe it should be looked into.
